World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests

Dear Friends, Tomorrow, Friday the 30th of May, is the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests. The Vatican has published a beautiful letter encouraging all the faithful to take this day, and every day, as a time for prayer for our shepherds. These men feed us the Bread of Life, endlessly hear our confessions, baptize and marry us, and stand vigil at our deathbeds, counsel us and teach us, and take all kinds of flak (visible and invisible) for our sakes. The vast majority of them stand firm in faithfulness to their calling for the sake of the Blood of the Lamb. They suffer much. They are “other Christs” for us. They are human, they have faults and weaknesses and sins, just like us. They are primary targets for the malice of the evil one. They are far more than heroes. They are saints in the making, just as we all should be. Let’s never forget that in the hierarchical creation willed by the Holy Trinity, these men are a crucial link in the outpouring of divine graces upon

Was Obama mentored by Communist Party figure?

WorldNetDaily http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=65066 Friday, May 23, 2008 WorldNetDaily Exclusive Obama mentored by Communist Party figure Investigations show ties to radicals who shaped him, helped launch his political career May 22, 2008 By Jerome R. Corsi Barack Obama had extensive ties with extreme anti-American elements, including agents of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA, in Hawaii and Chicago, according to two new reports released yesterday in Washington, D.C., by two experienced internal security investigators. Investigative journalist Cliff Kincaid and Herbert Romerstein, a former investigator with the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities, presented evidence Obama was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis, an African-American poet and journalist who was also a CPUSA member while Obama attended high school in Hawaii. The authors, in a separate report, document Obama's ties to radicals in Chicago who helped launch his career. In a paper entitle

"Three-fourths of the Folks who make up the [NY Times] Front Page are Gay"

Post-Christian America WorldNetDaily http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=65070 Friday, May 23, 2008 LAW OF THE LAND Pat Buchanan: Marriage ruling another streetlight on our 'darkening path to perdition' Posted: May 22, 2008 By Patrick J. Buchanan "A Victory for Equality and Justice," blared the headline above the editorial. "Momentous," "historic," "a major victory for civil rights," "a scrupulously fair ruling based on law, precedents and common sense." This was the ecstatic reaction of the New York Times to the California Supreme Court's declaration that homosexuals have a right to marry and have their unions recognized as marriages. Now, there may be hugging around the newsroom at the Times, where one senior writer said, a few years back, three-fourths of the folks who make up the front page are gay. But this is just another streetlight on America's darkening path to perdition as a society and republic. T

Obama: "Even Forcing Catholics and Evangelicals to Pay for Abortions"

If Elected, Barak Obama Would Become 'The Abortion President,' Even Forcing Catholics and Evangelicals to Pay for Abortions WASHINGTON, May 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Senator Obama's views on abortion would be the most radical and extremist of any President in history and are completely out of step with the opinions of mainstream America. Some of Senator Obama's extremist abortion views are: While a state senator in Illinois, Senator Obama opposed legislation which would prevent the killing of infants that survived late-term abortions. Senator Obama opposed the ban on Partial-Birth abortions which the Supreme Court found to be Constitutional. The ban on this barbaric procedure is overwhelmingly supported by the majority of the American people. He stated one of the first things he would like to do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act which would radically expand abortion rights. Senator Obama recently said after speculating if one of his daughters became pregna

The Greatest Nation in History

God Bless America The Greatest Nation in History Richard Salbato 5-1-1008 (St. Joseph, the Worker) I try to write only about the Faith of the Catholic Church and its relation to our daily lives: how we treat God, how we treat each other, are we doing the right thing in each and every action of our day. Over the years I have seen that people really want to do the right things but emotions get in the way of good thinking. I have also noted that people think they can know what God wants of them without any real learning; in-other-words, they do not want to learn or study. They think God will teach them directly through their own uneducated conscience. This lack of knowledge has opened up the abuse of conscience by cult leaders, who do not see the balance between individual freedoms and the common good. Within the Church there is a war between those who want no laws against their self-created conscience and the written laws of God and the Church. The Church, on the other hand, teache

National Rosary Crusade to Save America and the World

It is certain that America is at the most crucial moment of her history. At this time we would do well to keep in mind the power of the Rosary and the message of Fatima. The Rosary is not merely a devotion. It is weapon of conversion, protection and love. Never has this weapon been more needed than it is today. The Rosary has proven itself as a weapon of protection. Some of the battles in which victory was attributed to the Rosary are: The battle of Lepanto in 1571, which the Church commemorates on October 7th as the feast of the Holy Rosary; the battle of Vienna in 1683 and the battle of Belgrade in 1716. These battles were won against all odds by the power of the Rosary. In each instance Europe was saved from the forces of Mohammed. In the 20th century we have witnessed many examples of Rosary victories. After WWII, the Allies partitioned Austria into four zones. The Russians were in control of the most important section; Moscow, interested in maintaining its control in Austria, garr

Do Obama's Catholic Backers Support Infanticide?

http://www.lifenews.com/nat3927.html Barack Obama's Catholic Backers Dodging His Favoring Abortion, Infanticide by Deal Hudson May 13, 2008 LifeNews.com Note: Deal W. Hudson is the director of the Morley Institute for Church & Culture, and is the former publisher and editor of CRISIS Magazine, a Catholic monthly. He is the author of six books and his articles and comments have been published in many newspapers and magazines. When Obama's Catholic supporters attacked Catholic League president Bill Donohue for his criticism of their candidate, they did not mention Obama's support for infanticide. The question will inevitably arise for the distinguished group of Catholics supporting Obama as to how they can defend his preference for infanticide in cases where a child survives a botched abortion. The fury Obama's Catholics vented toward Donohue will only force them to face that question sooner than they may have expected. It's clear to me how it will be answered: It

"Find the Real. Seek with your Whole Hearts the True, the Beautiful, and the Good."

May, 2008 Dear friends, This month, I would like to share a few thoughts on gratitude. In a time of struggle—which is the situation for all those who seek to follow Jesus wholeheartedly—it is easy to get endlessly distracted and anxious about “survival.” For Christians this can translate into survival for the sake of doing good in the world. The motive is good, but the anxiety is not. Indeed it is a symptom of a flaw in the root of one’s relationship with God as Father. In any event, that is the case with me. The past month, I have been hearing in prayer a gentle but persistent word: “All good things are given from above.” And: “Patience.” Yes, we must work on, often with little promise of success in worldly terms. If we do so, many interior qualities are strengthened, such as patience, perseverance, longsuffering—and even wisdom. One can know this in the mind. But it is not so easy to integrate this knowledge with the deeper movements of the heart and soul. But how does the integratio

Is the California Supreme Court’s Gay Fascism Evil?

By Fred Martinez Before he died, Pope John Paul II said homosexual marriage and the gay agenda are part of "a new ideology of evil perhaps more insidious and hidden, which attempts to pit human rights against the family and against man." The majority of the California Supreme Court stands for the "new ideology of evil,” which will lead America in stages to become a new Sodom and Gomorrah. As Justice Scalia said against Lawrence v. Texas, the so-called Texas sodomy case: “[It] effectively decrees the end of all moral legislation.” The California Court’s ideology is in direct opposition to the Judeo-Christian God and His Ten Commandments. The other world religions, even the straightforward atheists or sinners are not part of the "new ideology of evil.” Deceptive anti-moral terrorists who are at enmity with God and His moral law are the ideologues. These fakes whose advertising jingle is “tolerance,” will not tolerate tradition morality. They’re only tolerance is unbor

"The Most Important Thing" to End the Abortion Agenda

By Fred Martinez The Population Research Institute (PRI) has found that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are targeting Catholics as well as minorities especially the third world people here and globally according to Ginny Hitchcock, the West Coast Representative of Population Research Institute. On a worldwide basis, with the encouragement of the conservative members of the US Congress, she said that Steve Mosher and PRI are carrying out wide-ranging field research among Catholic populations in the developing world. PRI has found that the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s population control is frequently used to "subdue" Catholic populations at the expense of basic aid and economic development. "We're building on our reputation and relationship with strong pro-life members of Congress, and Catholic leaders abroad, to support human rights and to defend the Catholic faith and the rights of Catholic families throughout the world," PRI Presid

Poll: Big Shift Among Practicing and Non-Practicing Catholics After Papal Visit -- More Likely to Vote, Better Understand Church Teaching

Poll: Big Shift Among Practicing and Non-Practicing Catholics After Papal Visit -- More Likely to Vote, Better Understand Church Teaching, and Say Trip Met or Exceeded Expectations NEW HAVEN, Conn., May 9 /Christian Newswire/ -- New polling data released today by the Knights of Columbus shows that Pope Benedict XVI's visit to the United States in April produced a sharp jump in the proportion of American Catholics with a more positive view of the pope following his trip. The information released today provides data specifically about Catholics, and is a companion to the analysis released last week about the views of Americans generally. The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion interviewed 1,013 adults nationwide, and the survey results issued today are from an over sample of an additional 502 Catholics nationwide, and are statistically significant at ±4.4%. All polling was done between April 22 and April 29, 2008, immediately following the pope's return to Rome. Of partic

Can McCain Beat Obama without a Pro-Life VP like Huckabee?

Both evangelicals and Catholics need a long time pro-life VP before they fully back McCain. If he picks someone who is questionable on abortion like Romney, whom most long time pro-lifers distrust, he probably can't win. Fred McCain, Huckabee and the Evangelicals By Robert D. Novak WASHINGTON, D.C. -- John McCain, who has spent the last two months trying to consolidate right-wing support as the Republican candidate for president, has a problem of disputed dimensions with a vital component of the conservative coalition: the evangelicals. The biggest question is whether Mike Huckabee is part of the problem or the solution for McCain. An element of the Christian community is not reconciled to McCain's candidacy but instead regards the prospective presidency of Barack Obama in the nature of a Biblical plague visited upon a sinful people. These militants look at former Baptist preacher Huckabee as "God's candidate" running for president in 2012. Whether they can be wri
