Legion - a new movie of despair and blasphemy that contradicts Our Lady's Fatima message of hope

January 19, 2010

Dear Erlinda Carino,

On January 22, Sony will release the f a n t a s y Apocalypse thriller Legion in theaters nationwide.

A f i l m that Mocks the Faith and Leads to Despair

And it challenges God in these 5 important points:

1) Everything is upside down: St. Michael the Archangel is the rebel angel

2) God has lost faith in men! The world is lost!

3) Blasphemous absurdity: St. Michael/Rebel Angel/S a t a n comes to save a waitress pregnant with the ... "Messias"

4) Insult to Our Lady's purity: actress says Virgin Mary is not a virgin

5) Religion is "crazy." The most fundamental truths of our Faith, such as God's justice, mercy, his infinite perfection and the Incarnation of the Word are shown in a crazy light.

For a list of the dangers and errors in Legion, please see:

5 reasons why Legion is evil and must be opposed

This short, easy to read list shows why Legion is blasphemous and must be opposed by all those who love God and who spread Our Lady's Fatima message of prayer, penance and trust in His mercy.

Join the protest against Sony

Serious Catholics see how this is NOT only a movie; not just mere entertainment. Those who love Our Lord and Our Lady perceive how blasphemy has been making great strides lately through films, novels and theater.

That's why we Catholics need to stand up and be counted. We must show Sony that we reject Legion because it is blasphemous and insults Our Lady and Our Lord.

Moreover, we must not forget that Sony also launched the blasphemous, unsuccessful Da Vinci Code movie in 2006, which mocked the Divine Person of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, please go here now to send you instant e-protest message to SONY, the distributor of Legion.

But there's more.

Not only must Catholics oppose Legion, but we must alert others against it too.

Ask them to be vigilant. NOT to allow themselves to be influenced by Legion, or any other blasphemous f i l m.

That's why I ask you to forward this message to a friend. Ask them to join our nationwide protest of Legion.

To make this peaceful and prayerful protest effective, we hope to reach at least one million Catholics within the next 2 weeks.

So please help by passing on this instant e-protest message against Sony today.

Finally, please: REMEMBER!

At Fatima, Our Lady gave us hope. Yes, it's true that She foretold a period of great suffering unless mankind converted. Yet that period would be followed by a golden era of peace, the reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We are definitely in a period of great suffering now. But we can look ahead with absolute certainty to the glorious dawn of Our Lady's coming reign, because at Fatima, She promised:

"Finally, My Immaculate Heart will triumph!"

Sincerely in Jesu et Maria

Obama's Finance Bill gives him "a Power Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez would Love to have!"

Obama Finance Bill Will Allow Seizure of Companies
Friday, 21 May 2010 02:38 PM Article Font Size
By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

President Barack Obama has taken the United States one more giant step towards socialism by ramming through the Senate his financial regulation bill.

The bill authorizes the secretary of the Treasury — a political appointee — to seize any financial company (bank or nonbank) simply because, in his opinion, it is too big to fail and in danger of insolvency.

This power can be used for political retribution, pressure for campaign funding, or any other abuse bureaucratic whim or partisan politics can conceive. It is a power Fidel Castro or Hugo Chavez would love to have!

The legislation also requires that any business that extends credit, in any form, to clear the loan instrument in advance with the new consumer protection agency. The backlog of pending applications will strangle consumer credit.

And the bill fails to do the one thing it must do — regulate derivatives and make them transparent. Senator Chris Dodd, D-Conn., bowed to pressure from his sponsors on Wall Street and deleted the regulatory provision and set up a commission to study the situation for two years!

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., protested the cop-out with a no vote against the legislation.

So how did it pass?

Four Republicans sold out, that´s how!

Among the RINOs were, of course, Susan Collins and Olympia Snow of Maine. But, surprisingly, Scott Brown, R Mass., the newly elected Massachusetts miracle defected as did the normally stalwart Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

Now the federal government has effectively taken over about one-third of our national economy by passing Obamacare and regulatory reform in almost the same breath.

Repealing this regulatory travesty must be high on our 2011 agenda!

Harry Potter and the Paganization of Culture

Dear Friends,

This month, my new book Harry Potter and the Paganization of Culture has been published by Fides et Traditio publishers.

To read more about the book and to obtain information for ordering it, please visit the studiobrien website home page, and click on the "Read More" link beneath the book cover illustration.

The public discussion about the phenomenal development of neopagan fantasy for young readers and film-goers has been curiously one-sided, lacking the tools of discernment that Christians normally employ when considering cultural material for their families. It is my hope that Harry Potter and the Paganization of Culture will broaden the parameters of the debate, as we examine in greater depth the right use and and the misuse of symbols, stories, and the life of the imagination.

The corruption of Christian civilization’s symbols is a centuries-old phenomenon, yet until the modern age the mutations and inversions, along with the making of new diabolic symbologies, remained on the fringes of society in secret societies and small esoteric cults. Now the culture of the cults is visible everywhere, and with the Harry Potter series is entering (and captivating) the mainstream. Through it, the corruption of symbols has moved to a new level of influence, and it has done so on a scale that is unprecedented in the history of literature.

If we lose the language of true symbolism, we lose at a basic level of consciousness our way of knowing things as they are. Symbols are not items in some storage room or attic of the psyche that we can take up and discard at will, or rearrange without consequences. To tamper with them is to destabilize the very foundations of the house. While most Christians would never knowingly exchange symbols of evil for symbols of good, many have accepted a new realm of eclectic symbology that allows a mixture of good and evil symbols to influence their thoughts and feelings. But two contradictory symbol worlds cannot long remain in a state of peaceful co-existence within us. Either one or the other will come to dominate and will eventually demand the expulsion of the other.

From the introduction by Bishop Julian Porteous, exorcist and auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Sydney, Australia:

"The influence of the Harry Potter series is complex because the universe created in it is one of the occult, and it reveals an ambivalent morality at work. Like nature there are laws which govern the moral life. There is an objective moral order to the universe—parents instinctively know this. The fantasy world needs to reinforce the laws of the moral universe. Every human being engages in a moral journey, and it is important that each individual has good guideposts to help him find the way. This is particularly important in the early formation of children.
"I have long had serious reservations about the spiritual underpinning to the Harry Potter series. Like Michael O’Brien, I believe Catholic parents need to be alerted to the possible negative influences that these books can have on the moral and spiritual formation of their children. Any parent concerned about the formation of the character of their children should read this book."

Please pray that this book will help families to become more aware of the challenges involved in children’s and young adult’s cultural material, and will help them in their discernment.

God bless you one and all in Christ our saviour,

Michael O’Brien

The Real Answer Illegal Immigration is not in Arizona

http://www.speroforum.com/a/32243/How-Conservatives-Should-Handle-Immigration

By Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

In their desperation, President Obama and senators with large Latino populations in their states (like Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.) are seeking to polarize Hispanic and Anglo sentiment over the issue of illegal immigration. In his frequent messages calling for a higher Latino and black turnout and his condemnation of the Arizona immigration law, Obama is trying to recapture over immigration the voter approval he lost over health care.

Arizona acted as it did because of a lack of federal enforcement of federal law barring undocumented immigrants. With a porous border, they felt that they were left no choice but to pass a law allowing potentially intrusive searches to ferret out illegal immigrants.

Because this law could subject American citizens of Hispanic origin to undue scrutiny and perhaps to needless trips to the police station, the Arizona law antagonizes the jump ball in the immigration debate -- Latino-American voters. If there were a real national identification card, the requirement to produce papers might be less intrusive. But, as it is, with the burden of proof on the citizen (or the illegal immigrant), the law is bound to raise tensions between Anglo cops and Latino citizens.

But being forced to support or oppose the Arizona law is a false choice. It reflects the unimaginative politics of confrontation that jeopardize race relations and elect demagogues like Barack Obama. (Obama's share of the white vote was the same as John Kerry won in 2004. He was elected only because of a 3 point increase in black turnout and a shift in Latino votes to his corner. He won because of race, and now he schemes to keep control of Congress by using the immigration issue.)

The real answer is not to round up Latinos in the streets of Phoenix and hope to catch illegals in the net. Nor is it even to pretend that we can stop determined men and women from crossing the border by more guards, more troops and better equipment. The answer is to dry up the will to cross the border in the first place by stopping employers from offering jobs to undocumented workers. If there were felony penalties -- jail time -- for hiring illegals, they would not be hired. And, if there were no jobs, there would be no illegal immigration.

The Republican position on illegal immigration should be to demand tough employer sanctions, including jail, and coupling that program with a vigorous guest worker program to bring needed workers in legally, pay them a living wage and then escort them out when they are no longer needed. The United States, in need of a younger population to pay for our current and future retirees, should also raise the allowed levels of immigration.

Both parties are hypocritical on immigration. Democrats, controlled by unions, want Latinos to vote but not work. Republicans, controlled by agribusiness interests, want them to work but not to vote. The answer is to stand up to union and to agribusiness pressure and take tough action to stop the hiring of illegal immigrants.

If there were no jobs for illegals outside of guest-worker programs, there would be no need for amnesty. They would all go home of their own accord or wait until they got legal status.

We would need a foolproof, biometric identity card to speed identification of those eligible for employment to accompany the sanctions against hiring illegals, but this is a small price to pay for an answer to so pressing a problem.

But Obama will not take the step that could end illegal immigration. Why? Because he wants immigration. He seeks to reshape the partisan balance in America by increasing the number of Latino voters and marrying them to the Democratic Party by provoking Republicans who just want law and order to appear as racist to Hispanic-Americans.

His is a game of great duplicity and racial opportunism. But good legislation can defeat his designs and solve one of our most pressing domestic problems at the same time.

The Rosary - Simply Amazing!

From: Jckm449@aol.com

... The Rosary - Simply Amazing! ...

Jim Castle was tired
when he boarded his plane in Cincinnati, Ohio, that night in 1981.
The 45-year-old management consultant
had put on a week long series of business meetings and seminars,
and now he sank gratefully into his seat
ready for the flight home to Kansas City, Kansas.

As more passengers entered,

the place hummed with conversation,
mixed with the sound of bags being stowed.
Then, suddenly, people fell silent.
The quiet moved slowly up the aisle
like an invisible wake behind a boat.
Jim craned his head to see what was happening,
and his mouth dropped open.

Walking up the aisle were two nuns
clad in simple white habits bordered in blue.
He recognized the familiar face of one at once,
the wrinkled skin, and the eyes warmly intent.

This was a face he'd seen in newscasts and on the cover of TIME.
The two nuns halted,
and Jim realized that his seat companion was going to be Mother Teresa!

As the last few passengers settled in,
Mother Teresa and her companion pulled out rosaries.

Each decade of the beads was a different color, Jim noticed.

"The decades represented various areas of the world,"

Mother Teresa told him later,
and added, "I pray for the poor and dying on each continent."

The airplane taxied to the runway
and the two women began to pray, their voices a low murmur.

Though Jim considered himself not a very religious Catholic
who went to church mostly out of habit,
inexplicably he found himself joining in.

By the time they murmured the final prayer,
the plane had reached cruising altitude.

Mother Teresa turned toward him.
For the first time in his life,
Jim understood what people meant
when they spoke of a person possessing an 'aura'.
As she gazed at him, a sense of peace filled him;
he could no more see it than he could see the wind but he felt it,
just as surely as he felt a warm summer breeze.

"Young man," she inquired, "do you say the rosary often?"
"No, not really," he admitted.

She took his hand, while her eyes probed his.

Then she smiled.
"Well, you will now."
And she dropped her rosary into his palm.

An hour later, Jim entered the Kansas City airport

where he was met by his wife, Ruth.
"What in the world?" Ruth asked
when she noticed the rosary in his hand.

They kissed and Jim described his encounter.

Driving home, he said. "I feel as if I met a true sister of God."

Nine months later,
Jim and Ruth visited Connie, a friend of theirs for several years.

Connie confessed that she'd been told she had ovarian cancer.
"The doctor says it's a tough case," said Connie,
"but I'm going to fight it. I won't give up."

Jim clasped her hand.

Then, after reaching into his pocket,
he gently twined Mother Teresa's rosary around her fingers.
He told her the story
and said, "Keep it with you, Connie. It may help."

Although Connie wasn't Catholic,
her hand closed willingly around the small plastic beads.
"Thank you," she whispered. "I hope I can return it."

More than a year passed before Jim saw Connie again.
This time her face was glowing,
she hurried toward him and handed him the rosary.

"I carried it with me all year," she said.
"I've had surgery and have been on chemotherapy, too.
Last month, the doctors did second-look surgery,
and the tumor's gone. Completely!"
Her eyes met Jim's.
"I knew it was time to give the rosary back."

In the fall of 1987, Ruth's sister, Liz,
fell into a deep depression after her divorce.
She asked Jim if she could borrow the rosary,
and when he sent it, she hung it over her bedpost in a small velvet bag.
"At night I held on to it, just physically held on. I was so lonely and afraid,"
she says, "yet when I gripped that rosary, I felt as if I held a loving hand."

Gradually, Liz pulled her life together,
and she mailed the rosary back.

"Someone else may need it," she said.

Then one night in 1988, a stranger telephoned Ruth.
She'd heard about the rosary from a neighbor
and asked if she could borrow it
to take to the hospital where her mother lay in a coma.
The family hoped the rosary might help their mother die peacefully.
A few days later, the woman returned the beads.
"The nurses told me a coma patient can still hear," she said,
"so I explained to my mother that I had Mother Teresa's rosary
and that when I gave it to her, she could let go;
it would be all rosary in her hand."
"Right away, we saw her face relaxed.
The lines smoothed out until she looked so peaceful, so young.
A few minutes later, she was gone."

Fervently, the woman gripped Ruth's hands.
"Thank you."

Is there special power in those humble beads?

Or is the power of the human spirit
simply renewed in each person who borrows the rosary?
Jim only knows that requests continue to come, often unexpectedly.
He always responds though, whenever he lends the rosary,
"When you're through needing it, send it back.
Someone else may need it."

Jim's own life has changed, too,
since his unexpected meeting on the airplane.
When he realized Mother Teresa carries everything she owns in a small bag,
he made an effort to simplify his own life.

"I try to remember what really counts -
not money or titles or possessions,
but the way we love others," he says.

May God bless you abundantly.
May Mother Mary ask her Son Jesus to shower you with grace.

Please feel free to pass this mail on,

especially to all those in despair
so that they might know that they are not alone in their hour of need.

I sent you this mail
because I know the power of the prayers of these simple beads
and I wanted to share it with you.
Every sacrifice has a fruitful reward.
Every failure has a second chance.

We only have to be strong through God's grace and persevere in life's many tests!

May God bless you always!
