Pope Francis and Nihilism

Does Pope Francis believe that there is no "possibility of an objective basis for truth" and that there is no objective meaning or reality? (Dictionary.com definitions of nihilism)

The nihilist Michel de Certeau believed in all of the above.

In simple words, de Certeau's theology denies objective truth.

The present Pope considers him the most eminent modern theologian. Francis said:

"For me, de Certeau is still the greatest theologian for today." (onepeterfive.com, March 8, 2016, "Pope Francis Reveals His Mind to Private Audience")

De Certeau in his greatest book "Heterologies" said:

"It is not Mr. Foucault who is making fun of domains of knowledge... It is history that is laughing at them. It plays tricks on the teleologists who take themselves to be the lieutenants of meaning. A meaninglessness of history." ("Heterologogies," Pages 195-196)

Historian Keith Windschuttle shows that the Pope's favorite modern theologian is a radical who thinks that there is no outside reality. Windschuttle wrote:

"Of all the French theorists... de Certeau is the most radical. He is critical of the poststructuralist Foucault for his use of documentary evidence and of Derrida for the way he privileges the practice of writing. For de Certeau, writing is a form of oppression... he argues... writing itself constitutes the act of colonisation..."

"Like both structuralist and poststructuralist theorists, de Certeau subscribes to the thesis that we have access only to our language and not to any real, outside world..."

"De Certeau claims that writing can never be objective. Its status is no different from that of fiction. So, because history is a form of writing, all history is also fiction." ("The Killing of History," Pages 31-34)

By Francis's greatest modern theologian's logic then Jesus Christ, true God and true man, who walked the earth during the reign of Pontius Pilate is fiction.

The central doctrine of Catholism, the Incarnation, is fiction.

Post Structuralists like de Certeau, more widely known as Postmodernists, believe all reality is fiction or "narrative."

They change the "narrative" or story usually to compile with their leftist or liberal views on politics, sexual morality or whatever their pet project happens to be.

They rarely use scholarship to backup their "narrative" point of view, only mind numbing long confusing writing that obscures instead of clarifying.

The Postmodernists in the media are one exception to the obscurantism of non-clarity.

Their "narratives" are clear and well written, but again rarely is there scholarship or strong evidence to backup their stories. They use spin to obscure.

Media spin "narrative" is "news and information that is manipulated or slanted to affect its interpretation and influence public opinion." (Dictionary.com)

They usually use their "narratives" in history, news, the Bible and any writing as a vehicle to promote their ideological ideas.

With that background, here is the Pope's favorite theologian's central religious ideas. The de Certeau Scholar Johannes Hoff wrote:

"According to this new approach to the Biblical narrative, the focal event of Christianity is not the incarnation, the crucifixion, or the resurrection of Christ, but the empty tomb. The Christian form of life is no longer associated with a place, a body, or an institution, but with a quest for a missing body: the missing body of the people of Israel, and mutatis mutandis the missing body of Jesus."
(Article by Johannes Hoff, "Mysticism, Ecclesiology And The Body Christ: Certeau's (Mis-) Reading of Corpus Mystium and the Legacy of Henri de Lubac" Page 87, Titus Brandsma Institute Studies In Spirituality, Supplement 24, "Spiritual Spaces: History and Mysticism in Michel De Certeau")

The nihilist theologian believes that the central truths of Christianity are about "absence" or nonexistence. De Certeau scholar Graham Ward wrote:

"For de Lubac the... Eucharist is not a sign of the presence of Christ's body, it is Christ's body... And yet Certeau... makes the Eucharist (as later the church and body of mystical text he treats) into substitutes, acts of bereavement, signs of absence." ("Michel de Certeau - in the Plural, " Page 511)

In other words, Francis's greatest modern theologian believes that the Eucharist is not the body of Christ present, he doesn't even believe it is a sign of the presence of Christ's body like some Protestants, but a sign of "absence."

Might de Certeau's influence on Francis be the reason he never kneels before the Eucharist, but kneels to wash the feet of those he like Certeau might consider oppressed?

De Certeau's influence on Francis may be the reason he reportedly said:

"It is not excluded that I will enter history as the one who split the Catholic Church." (Der Spiegel magazine, December, 23, 2016)

De Certeau scholar Frederick Christian Bauerschmidt wrote:

"Certeau... came increasingly to stress the clash of interpretation, the "law of conflict," that applies even to the church. Under the pressure of this clash, the ecclesial/eucharistic body is "shattered." ("Michael de Certeau - in the Plural", Page 359)

Francis's greatest modern theologian doesn't believe in the central truths of the Catholic Church.

The Pope's most eminent modern theologian doesn't even believe in objective truth.

Does Francis believe in the central doctrines of the Catholic Church or in objective truth?

The question needs to be asked:

If the Pope is a disciple of de Certeau and Postmodernism, then what ultimately do he and these thinkers believe in?

Philosopher Stephen Hicks said:

The "Left thinkers of the 1950s and 1960s... Confronted by the continued poverty and brutality of socialism, they could either go with the evidence and reject their most cherish ideals - or stick by their ideals and attack the whole idea that evidence and logic matter..."

"Postmodernism is born of the marriage of Left politics and skeptical epistemology..."

"Then, strikingly, postmodernism turns out not to be relativistic at all. Relativism becomes part of a rhetorical political strategy, some Machiavellian realpolitik employed to throw the opposition off track..."

"Here it is useful to recall Derrida: 'deconstruction never had any meaning... than as a radicalization... within the tradition of a certain Marxism, in a certain spirit of Marxism.'" ("Explaining Postmodernism," Page 90, 186)

For Postmodernists like de Certeau, Derrida, Foucault and it appears Francis, if he is their disciple, falsehood or truth doesn't matter.

The only thing that matters is achieving power for their liberal ideology or group.

Instead of economic Marxism, the post-modernist in the 1970's focused on what de Certeau and other post-modernists termed "oppression" of groups.

Power not truth for groups such as women, gays, transexauls, workers and any sub-category of minorities was the new goal to achieving control.

An example is abortion: women had to have power over their bodies so the truth that the unborn baby is human must be denied and politically incorrect.

Another example is homosexual acts: gays had to have power over their bodies so the truth that is was a sin and lead to disease and a early death had to be denied and politically incorrect.

Remember that liberals, who never use Marxist words, are nothing but post-modernist who use words like equality and compassion as masks for raw power.

Venezuela is another example.

The liberals from Fr. James Martin to Pope Francis will not lift a finger or say a word to stop the Venezuelan people from being starved and brutalized because the country's dictator is part of their liberal group.

The liberals means to achieve power in the Church is praxis theology.

Internationally renowned theologian Dr. Tracey Rowland said Francis's "decision - making process" outlined in Evangelii Gaudium is "the tendency to give priority to praxis over theory."

She states that chapter eight of Amoris Laetitia "might be described as the praxis chapter rather than a theory chapter." Theory meaning Catholic doctrine.

The renowned theologian asks how footnote 351 of Amoris Laetitia "can be consistent with paragraph eighty-four of John Paul II's Apostolic Exhortation Familiaris consortio and paragraph twenty-nine of Benedict XVI's Apostolic Exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis? A pastoral crisis may arise if the lay faithful and their priests have to choose between... two Popes (John Paul II and Benedict XVI) on one side, and a third Pope (Pope Francis) on the other." ("Catholic Theology," Page 192, 198, 199)

The choice appears to be between the infallible doctrines of the Catholic Church or praxis theology.

Rowland says "praxis types agree in rejecting classical metaphysics." She then explains praxis ideology or "theology":

"Doctrinal theory is at best extrinsic and secondary. The reflex character of theory-praxis tends toward a reduction of theory to reflection on praxis as variously understood. The normativity tends toward an identification of Christianity with modern, secular (liberal or Marxist) process." ("Catholic Theology," Page174)

If what the internationally renowned theologian is saying is true of Pope Francis and praxis "theology," then the Church is in the greatest crisis in history.

The Church has a Pope who has betrayed Jesus Christ and His Gospel for the world.

It appears that Francis has exchanged the Gospel of Jesus Christ for "secular (liberal or Marxist)" ideology which denies objective truth.

Pray for the Church, the beloved bride of Jesus Christ.

Liberal: Hypocrite Pope Francis's "Smiling Face" for Leftist Dictators Shows Acceptance

Liberal Fabiolas Santiago who has "been critical of Trump" said that President Trump "got what he deserved: the cold shoulder" from the Pope.

In a article for the Miami Herald Santiago said Francis had a "smiling face" for dictators and a disdainful face for the President, but no "matter how I dislike President Trump... he was democratically elected. "

In the article he wrote:

I like Pope Francis, but when it comes to strongmen, he plays the hypocrite card..."

"But the Cuban and Venezuelan people desperately need his moral authority... Pope Francis' warmth toward the Castros, seen under the light of the Trump scorn, sends a message to the world that their rule is acceptable. " (Miami Herald, May 26, 2017, "If only Pope Francis treated dictators with the disdain he showed President Trump")

Oscar the Grouch Maradiaga's Bizarre Rant "Signals Desperation" says Vatican Expert

A Vatican expert who has met Pope Francis told me:

"There's an old saying: the louder they scream, the scare-der they are. This applies to Oscar the Grouch."

"Maradiaga's unprovoked, caustic, low blow at Burke is simply bizarre, but it signals to me that they are losing their popularity. Oscar's rant signals desperation. He senses the wind is shifting away from the merciful Pope."

"The fact that Burke is still around, gaining traction and the voice of the Resistance is infuriating them."

According to the source who wishes to remain anonymous, "Francis is very thin skinned." The "series of Resistance conferences in Rome's steps" and the "band of bloggers" is getting "under his skin."

The Vatican expert's advice to the Resistance and the band of bloggers:

"Keep the heat on."

Pope Francis & Honorius, Heresy and a Bird's Eyes View or Perspective

With Pope Francis like Pope Honorius now officially teaching heresy we need a bird's eye view or perspective.

When Honorius taught heresy the Holy See wasn't vacant and the Church didn't die.

As in the time of Honorius, the Holy See is not vacant and the Catholic Church is still the Church founded by Jesus Christ that will endure until He returns at the end of time.

Remember that the Church survived the heresy of Honorius and he was not condemned until after his death.

The See didn't become vacant and the Church didn't die.

The Catholic Church survived Honorius and will survive Francis.

Honorius was not even corrected or even challenged by the bishops of his time.

At least, Francis is being challenged and may be corrected.

We must pray that the Dubia Cardinals correct the Pope.

Most importantly, we must hold on to our God given faith, hope and love/charity.

We must pray, do penance, do our daily duty and influence those around us towards God and His Church so they and we may receive the grace to be saved.

We must continue to speak the truth and pray that God reform the Church.

Below is a comparison of Francis and Honorius:

Pope Honorius wrote a document to please the Monothelitist heretics.

He then allowed the heresy to spread and confuse the faithful.

The heretics taught Jesus had only a Divine will.

The Church teaching is that Jesus has both a human will and a Divine will.

Francis wrote the document Amoris Laetitia and a letter to allow adulterer to receive Communion to please those promoting the Kasperite heresy and even this past week promoted it as official teaching.

He then allowed the error to spread and confuse the faithful.

The Kasperites teach that those in adulterous sexually active second "marriages" could continue to commit objective mortal sin and receive Holy Communion without reforming their sinful habits.

The Kasperites argue there might not be a objective mortal sin because subjectively one might not know it is a sin so they may receive Communion.

The Church counters the Kasperite subjective argument by teaching that those committing any objective mortal sins such as adultery or homosexual sexual acts who are subjectively unaware of the gravity of the sins must have their conscience formed.

The sinner is informed of the Catholic moral teachings that adultery or any homosexual sexual acts are gravely sinful.

After their conscience is formed then the person must confess the sins and make a firm resolution not to commit the sins before receiving Communion.

An example, of how absurd is the Kasper proposal is murder.

By their argument, the murderer could continue murdering and receive Communion so long as he didn't objectively know murder was a mortal sin.

Theologian Rowland shows how erroneous is Francis's promotion of the Kasper proposal:

"Kasper's arguments based on alleged Patristic-era antecedents were heavily criticised by eminent Patristic scholars, and... the idea was strongly opposed by both of his papal predecessors." (Catholic Theology, page 196)

Pope Francis's support of the Kasper error has lead him into becoming another Honorius who was a heretic.

The great Catholic theologian Abbott John Chapman in the Dublin Review of 1906 said:

"Unquestionably no Catholic has the right to deny that Honorius was a heretic... a heretic in word, if not in intention... It would no doubt be uncharitable to regard the Pope as a "private heretic"; but his letters, treated as definitions of faith, are obviously and beyond doubt heretical, for in a definition it is the words that matter." (edwardfeser.blogspot, December 18, 2017, "Denial flows into the Tiber")

Even more important, Pope Honorius was condemned by a general council and Pope St. Agatho and Pope St. Leo II. Leo said:

"We anathematize the inventors of the new error... and also Honorius, who did not attempt to sanctify this Apostolic Church with the teaching of Apostolic tradition, but by profane treachery permitted it's purity to be polluted." (edwardfeser.blogspot, December 18, 2017, "Denial flows from the Tiber")

Pope Francis will be condemned by a future general council and pope unless he recants.

Is Pope Francis's Top Adviser Maradiaga in the Gay Mafia?

Cardinal Oscar Maradiaga, called the Vice-Pope by many, is the head of Pope Francis's nine Cardinal inner circle to reform the Vatican.

According to journalist Christine Niles:

"Maradiaga was also longtime head of Caritas International...which happens to be a member of the governing body of the World Social Forum - a Communist, pro-homosexual group." (ChurchMilitant.com, August 14, 2017)

The Vice-Pope in September 2015 was head of a conference whose main purpose was to promote "the abstruse positions of Cardinal Walter Kasper." (LifeSiteNews.com, August 10, 2015, "Close papal adviser heads conference attacking Church's moral teachings")

For those like Maradiaga who are Kasperites, it appears that the ultimate purpose of the Kasper Proposal is to impose the gay mafia agenda on Catholic moral teachings.

Fr. Zuhlsdord at his website on April 16, 2016 posted:

The " Trojan Horse Archbishop Bruno Forte stealthily snuck into the Synod's Interim Report... of the 2014 Synod...was the moment when many of us knew that 'homosexuality' was the bigger issue with the Kasperites...This is still the Kasper strategy."

It appears that the Kasperite Maradiaga who was the longtime head the organization that was a member of the pro-homosexual group may be in the gay mafia.

If the Vice-Pope is not a card carrying member of the homosexual mafia, it appears that he may support their agenda that would undermine Catholic moral doctrine.

Pope Francis Remains Silent on "Without any Doubt" Rigged Election in Venezuela while Issuing Mild statement on Rigged elected Assembly

-Updated August 4, 2017-

Pope Francis remained silent as many world leaders issued condemnations of the rigged Venezuelan election.

Today, liberal crux.com reported the Pope through a Vatican statement mildly urged the dictator Nicolas Maduro "to consider the 'avoidance or suspension of... new constitution assembly.'"

There was no mention that the assembly was voted in by a rigged election.

Among world leaders, why are only Pope Francis, the Cuban dictatorship and a couple of leftist regimes remaining silent about the Venezuelan rigged election?

Even liberal CBS's headline reported:

"Voting machine firm: Venezuela vote rigged 'without any doubt.'" (cbsnews.com, August 2, 2017)

The BBC image of a Venezuelan protestor in a tear gas mask facing Maduro's goons with a sling shot should bring even the hard hearted leftist supporters of the dictatorship to tears or shame. (BBC.com, August 2, 2017)

Especially when remembering that Dictator Maduro's generals "issues orders" to kill using "snipers against anti-government protesters" (Miami Herald, May 18, 2017, "In secret recording Venezuelan general pushes for snipers to control demonstrators")

Maybe the following is why the Pope is silent.

Francis in "Laudato si" said of the free market economic system that:

"Such an economy kills."

Cardinal Oscar Maradiaga, the Pope's top adviser, agreed with the left leaning papal economic statement saying:

"This economy kills."

The Pope, his adviser and the leftist regimes appear to think that socialist economies such as the Venezuelan system are the model to oppose the free market system so they must be supported, or as least not opposed, no matter what they do.

This may be the reason why they are silent about:

-The rigged election

-the planning of government snipers to kill peaceful protesters

-of at least 100 murders by the dictatorship

-of over a thousand arrests of demonstrators by the Maduro forces.

Ideology instead of reality may drive the silence.

On April 25, 2017 Caracas Chronicles.com reported:

"The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said this Monday that Venezuela is at risk of a food crisis."

It appears that it is the socialist economy that kills.

It appears ideology not reality may drive the silence of Francis.

Venezuelan Dictator's Violence & Pope Francis's Silence vs. Venezuelan People's Protest for Freedom

Nicolas Maduro is trying to save his dictatorship by accusing "his country's bishops of ignoring Pope Francis's call for dialogue." (Crux, May 15, 2017)

The left leaning Pope Francis appears by his silence to be willing to allow Maduro to use his words as propaganda to prolong the ruling leftist dictatorship.

The Pope remains silent even as the liberal CNN has video of leftist government tanks mowing down Venezuelan protestors on Google.

The papacy remains silent as the vast majority of the people of Venezuela are calling for democracy.

Francis remains silent despite the Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin on Saturday saying:

"I believe that elections are the only solution." (Crux, May 13, 2017)

Maduro is refusing to hold free elections despite the Vatican Secretary of State statement.

As the Venezuelan protestors calling for freedom are arrested and killed by the dictator and as the papal words are used as propaganda, Pope Francis's response is:

Silence.

If the Pope called for Maduro to step down, the dictatorship would in all probability end.

However, Francis by choosing silence, appears to be propping up the dictator.

Venezuela and Pope Francis's Bloody Hands

As Jesus suffered under Pontius Pilate so it appears that Venezuela suffered under Pope Francis.

Were Pilate's hands innocent of the blood of Jesus after he washed his hands in water?

Are Francis's hands innocent of the Venezuelan victim's blood after his so-called negotiations?

Vatican expert Sandro Magister counts 40 dead, 1,000 wounded and "the growing systematic aggression against...the Catholic Church...death threats and blasphemous graffiti on the walls of churches" as Francis allows Socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro to crucify his own countrymen as they plead for democracy. (Magister.blog, "Pontius Pilate Has Reappeared In Venezuela," May 11, 2017)

The Vatican expert confirmed "Pope Francis has been punctually informed about everything" happening in the country directly by the Venezuelan bishops.

The bishops have "disappointment and anger" against Francis's April 29 statement which "practically blamed" the "Venezuelan opposition groups" for the breakdown of the papal negotiations when it was Maduro "who has not wanted to meet any of these conditions" of the negotiations while the opposition groups agreed to all the Vatican conditions.

It appears that the left leaning Francis is propping up the bloody leftist dictator according to the Vatican expert. Magister said:

"The fact is that between Pope Francis and the Venezuelan bishops, concerning the crisis that is ravaging the country, there is a abyss. The bishops stand with the population that is protesting against dictatorship, and are respected and listened to as authoritative guides. While Bergoglio is judged on a par with Pontius Pilate."
