Premiere Lawyer Barnes: "Attorney General Barr Strongly Disagreed w/ #Barrett, calling the Lockdown Orders the Worst Violation of Civil Rights in American History since Slavery"
Today, premiere lawyer Robert Barnes who deals in civil, criminal and constitutional law reported on Twitter that Attorney General William Barr "strongly disagreed" with Amy Coney Barrett's "lockdown orders [ruling which are] the worst violation of civil rights in American history since slavery."
The Barrett lockdown ruling apparently may be anti-U. S. Constitution according to Barnes:
"Republicans view her as reliably conservative and a future Supreme Court
vote to overturn the landmark 1973 decision legalizing abortion rights
in the U.S., but Barrett has offered conflicting comments on how she
might vote on abortion cases."
"During her confirmation hearing to the appeals court, Barrett said she would 'follow all Supreme Court precedent without fail' and would regard decisions such as Roe v. Wade as binding precedent.
“I would never impose my own personal convictions upon the law,” she said.
"But she also has written
that judges should not be held to upholding Supreme Court precedents,
such as the abortion decision." [https://www.voanews.com/usa/three-conservative-female-judges-top-trumps-supreme-court-list and

Yesterday, the Monitor received an email from an internationally known attorney. The lawyer who wishes to remain anonymous, in a response to the report mentioned above which speculated that "Barrett may possibly be semi-pro-abortion," said:
"The Catholic Monitor is correct. Also, Barrett wrote a terrible decision supporting Democrat Governor Pritzger’s draconian shutdown. I am told that the opinion is terribly argued and very problematic. The fawning over Barrett by non lawyers and all these Catholic bloggers is very troubling. They don’t have legal knowledge of her decisions."
"We must also remember that Notre Dame honored Barack Obama and Ted McCarrick. It has hired Pete Buttigieg to teach there. It seems like the ND public relations machine is in over drive to name Amy [who has taught at the Notre Dame Law School]. We need a pro-life jurist who can get the Senate confirmation. The Cuban Latina Barbara Lagoa might be more difficult for the Democrats to vote against. She might even eek out a Democrat vote or two. I know the strong Notre Dame connection as well as clout and so my reflex reaction is not to trust it."
